Description
|
Studies appropriate for consideration should focus on common diseases with unusual facets or unusual diseases with attendant teaching value. |
Clinical and laboratory research-based abstracts should be submitted.
The top three award recipients in each category will receive a cash reward. (See guidelines for more information.)
** Case-based studies and series are not appropriate for this program and will automatically be excluded from the review process. |
Poster exhibits present new ideas and original observations of scientific information utilizing narrative material, photographs, charts, diagrams, etc.
The highest scoring abstracts will be considered for presentation at the 2023 Annual Meeting.
The primary author of the top five scoring posters will be given certificates of recognition, monetary AAD certificates, and the poster abstract will be published in an online JAAD supplement.
**Case reports that are rare or novel will be considered, however, they are more applicable for the Gross & Microscopic abstract program. |
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts describing their most recent results on the latest ground-breaking observations in clinical, therapeutics, surgical, pediatric, dermatopathologic, and basic research.
New therapies will be given top priority, particularly data from pivotal trials of unapproved drugs or unapproved indications. In addition, novel observations that could be practice-changing will also be given top consideration.

Gross & Microscopic Symposium, Late-breaking Research, Poster Exhibits, and Resident & Fellows Symposium abstracts will release only the following information 1-2 weeks prior to the Annual Meeting:

- Authors
- Presentation date/time
Full abstract content will only be available in-person at the presentation time, not online.
Poster Exhibits: Abstract content will be available in the online viewing portal and on-site at the viewing stations. They will also be published online via the JAAD supplement in Fall 2024.
Late-breaking Research: The full abstract content is embargoed until 7 a.m. PST on Saturday, March 9, at which time they will be released as a handout for the corresponding session. You can find the session information and handouts here.
