Abstract Submission
The ESGAR Annual Meeting has evolved into a global platform for sharing research in gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology. It offers a high-quality educational and scientific programme. The programme, created by the ESGAR 2025 Programme Committee, promotes excellent scientific research and encourages the sharing of the latest findings in diagnostic and interventional abdominal and GI radiology.
With a commitment to inclusivity and representation on a global scale, the ESGAR 2025 Programme Committee invites the submission of abstracts for scientific and educational presentations. These submissions will be reviewed, and selected abstracts will have the opportunity to shine through scientific (oral) presentations or electronic poster presentations, ensuring a well-rounded and diverse scientific programme that resonates with radiologists from around the world.

Presenters of all abstract types will receive the notifications of acceptance via e-mail in January 2025. Presenters with accepted abstracts for posters will receive a link to the e-Poster system by e-mail, enabling them to upload their poster presentation(s) prior to the meeting.

Abstracts longer than 250 words will not be accepted by the system.
Projects can only be submitted in one presentation category. Posters already on the Poster database may not be re-submitted to ESGAR. Accepted scientific presentations will be published online in a supplement to “Insights into Imaging”.

Dear Colleagues,
It is a great honour for me to invite you – also on behalf of the Local Organising Committee – to the 36th ESGAR Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course May 13 – 16, 2025 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
This is the second time that the ESGAR Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course is held in the Netherlands. The first occasion was in 1997 in Amsterdam and it was envisioned to take place in the Netherlands in 2020 but unfortunately it had to be cancelled at short notice because of the COVID pandemic. In the intervening 28 years ESGAR has grown from an – already at that time – established meeting to the premier gastrointestinal and abdominal imaging meeting.
The ESGAR 2025 Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course brings you a state of the art, in depth overview of gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology in 2025 and beyond. Experts in the fi eld will provide you with an update on topics from your daily practice as well as what is new in the fi eld. Educational formats include lectures, tutorials, workshops, educational pathway of the European training curriculum (School of ESGAR), Cases of the Day, and rad-path education (Nick Gourtsoyiannis’ Foundation Course). The Postgraduate Course “Navigating uncertainty after treatment” will highlight how to deal with the challenges we encounter in assessing treatment response as well as in complications after treatment. Cutting edge science is presented for all those looking for the next steps in gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology. ESGAR 2025 will also be the place to meet, have a cup of coffee with your co-workers and friends and a place to get to know new colleagues.
The meeting venue is the RAI Congress Centre that has ample facilities and is very well connected to the airport and the city centre. The venue has a direct train connection (11 minutes) to Schiphol airport; one of the main hubs in Europe with non-stop flights to over 300 cities. The underground will take you from the RAI to the historic canal area and the Central Station in eight minutes. Multiple fine hotels are within walking distance of the venue and many other hotels easy in reach by underground, tram or taxi.
Apart from this very interesting meeting, Amsterdam itself has much to offer: the vibrant city centre with its rich history, canals and bridges, world-renowned museums, old and new eye-catching buildings (such as Central Station, Rijksmuseum, Eye, NEMO), parks, shopping areas as “De negen straatjes” as well as new developments such as at the IJ waterfront.
The 36th ESGAR Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course promises to be the next successful ESGAR meeting. I hope to welcome and meet you in Amsterdam in 2025!
