The Argentine Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (SAAG) and the Gerontological Association of Argentina (AGA) have made a joint effort to chair the 22nd World Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics that will take place in Buenos Aires City, from June 12 to 16, 2022. This is a unique opportunity for all practitioners from multiple aging-related disciplines to update and exchange know-how and experiences. This Congress is the outcome of the effort made by all such professionals devoted to geriatrics and gerontology focusing on aging and old age, the SAGG since 1950 and the AGA since 1987.
We take over the motto we have proposed at the heart of our Organizing Committee:
CARE: Commitment + Actions + Research + Equity
In principle, we have the will to address topics with our academic Commitment to the needs of an aging population with no exceptions worldwide. This commitment is essential to break down societal inequalities affecting equitable access to successful aging.
Parallelly, we intend to take Actions enabling access to knowledge of the necessary tools that may enhance possibilities for practitioners from all disciplines to properly intervene in preventing frailty, promoting independence and autonomy, and at the same time empowering older adults consistently with such goals.
Therefore, it is important to stimulate Research into all fields of knowledge, and be able to share the outcome at these conferences.
All the foregoing should aim at securing Equity in the promotion of bio-psico-social welfare of the elderly.
On the other hand, we cordially invite you to visit Buenos Aires and Argentina, a country with many landscapes and climates within a single territory, which is becoming a consolidated tourist destination, with a well-known population for its hospitality, and world-class cuisine.
