The papers to be presented at the congress should be in the form of experimental studies, clinical studies, and original case reports, which can contribute to scientific development and should give a concluding message. Since the abstracts sent over the internet will be printed in the same way, attention should be paid to typographical errors. The authors are responsible for all typographical errors.

Writing Rules

• Abstracts will be collected through the online abstract system.
• Academic titles should not be used in author names.
• Names should be written in lowercase letters with only the first letter capitalized.
• The names and addresses of the institutions where the authors’ work must be specified.
• Only the first letter of the abstract title should be capitalized. (Abbreviations are the exception.)
• If abbreviations are used in the abstract, the full name of each abbreviation should be stated in parentheses.
• In the abstract, the aim of the study and the methods used should be briefly stated. The findings should be summarized with sufficient numerical detail. The result should be explained within the framework of the presented findings.
• Abstract should be written using purpose, method, findings, and result titles.
• The entire abstract should not exceed 1000 words, excluding the title, author's name, and surname.

Abstracts that do not comply with any of these clauses will be excluded from the evaluation regardless of its content.

Evaluation of Papers

The evaluation will be made by the Abstract Evaluation Committee, keeping the names/surnames and institutions of the researchers confidential. The result of the evaluation will be sent to all the paper holders as a result letter.

Presentation Information

Oral Presentations
You should prepare your presentation slides based on the following features:

• Title, ethics committee approval, conflict of interest statement (1 slide)
• Rationale and literature abstract (1 slide)
• Purpose, plan, and design (1 or maximum 2 slides)
• Results-1-2-3 (3 slides, if there is an image, there can be 3 more slides, max 3+3 slides)
• Discussion/commentary (2 slides)
• Acknowledgments, future projection (1 slide)

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to our second annual PICS/IPC Istanbul 2024 which will be held at the Hilton Istanbul Bakirkoy Conference Center. This is our second collaborative meeting with the IPC of Milan and the Turkish Society/Association of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery taking place in the beautiful and historic city of Istanbul. Indeed Istanbul, as the only major city to bridge two continents, provides the perfect backdrop for a collaborative venture between cardiologists from East and West with a focus on the interventional treatment of congenital heart disease. The meeting format will mirror the PICS template with morning sessions focused on Live Case Presentations from both local and international sites and the afternoons dedicated to interactive sessions outlining cutting-edge therapies for congenital heart disease, in addition to an entire separate track on imaging organized by our colleagues Aimee Armstrong and Gregor Krings who joined the board of PICS. This year also will feature for the fi time a fellows/early career course that spans 2 days prior to the meeting. This meeting is dedicated to those who are in their last year of training and for those who have been 1-2 years after completing their training. A letter of support will be needed to enroll in this course and will only accept the fi 50 who are eligible…

The meeting will commence on Wednesday 17th April with live cases from three international sites with experienced operators.

Thursday 18th April will begin with live case transmissions from another 3 sites (international and local hospitals). Experienced international guest operators will provide technical and cognitive perspectives on evolving international approaches for congenital interventions in children and adults.

Friday April 19th also begins with live case transmissions from local Istanbul hospitals with local and guest operators, as well as International sites.

The live case presentations are the foundation of our meeting and provide a truly unique learning experience for attendees, with meticulous attention to optimizing patient care.

In addition to the live case presentations, there will be taped cases that will focus on certain themes. Many different topics will be discussed in the afternoon sessions. Such sessions include: Lunchtime sessions, parallel sessions and much more. Interventions in adults with CHD will have its share of discussions at the meeting. In addition, imaging sessions, and much more.

Following the days intellectual endeavors, we will host all our attendees for diner at the social event to celebrate our unique community and the opportunity it provides for collaboration and friendship.

Poster abstracts will be displayed throughout the meeting with oral abstracts presented on Saturday morning. We will also have our popular Meet the Expert and Nightmare Case sessions on Saturday. The meeting will fi at lunchtime on Saturday to allow our attendees to visit the awesome attractions this truly great city.
